black film / coating on aquarium plants …. What is it and how can I get rid of it?
I have a number of plants that live in my tank and although I am very meticulous about keeping the tank clean, some of my plants (mainly the large leaves) appear to have some kind of black film on them. Moreover, still some larger stones in the aquarium and they also have this black coating / film on them. The castle still there, however, has a film green and appears more like algae (which one might add that tend to have a battle on my hands, in terms of trying to keep it under control). Is there anything should do differently and / or is there a way to better control the black film and algae (less than a tank full of Plecos)? Looking forward to the Answer:)
